In Françoise Caracos' artistic work, archival material or statements by contemporary witnesses form the starting point of historical narratives. Caraco interweaves fact and fiction in texts, audio and video works or installations in such a way that they create a link to current issues. Recurring elements in Caraco's works are the confrontation with her own family history, the reference to place and the interaction or collaboration with different actors.
